Habitat III Village は、エクアドルの首都キトで開催される国連ハビタットⅢ大会の一環として、市内の通りなど42か所で行われたものです。私たちは、地元建築設計事務所Al Bordeと共同で、Bridging Formal [IN]Formalをテーマに、HIIIVillageに参加しました。使いながら改修し続けている歴史的市街地の建物を、期間中公開しました。

Construction（2016.9～）

　現地建築設計事務所Al Bordeの敷地の一角にあった古い小さな倉庫を住宅へと改修しました。Habitat Ⅲ Village の期間前には、建物の掃除を初め、元の天井の撤去、壁を取り除き開口を設ける、床板の撤去・コンクリート打設（キッン）、一部屋根を取り除いてトップライトを作る、寝室のロフトの半分を撤去などといったことを行いました。

　We renovated a building with 4 small storage rooms to a house for a family. Before Habitat Ⅲ Village, we did construction; cleaning the building, removing the ceiling, floors, a part of the wall for a passage, and putting concrete in the kitchen, putting glasses on the roof as a top light, removing the half part of the loft.

元からあった雑多なものの整理と建物の掃除からプロジェクトは始まりました。

ものを取り出して、フローリングを剥がし始めたところです。

垂木と梁の更新・調整を行っています。

バスルームの屋根には大きな一枚ガラスを載せました。

Exhibition（2016.10.17～20）

　Habitat Ⅲ Villageの期間中、実際に工事中の建物の中で、模型やスケッチ、写真や動画などを置き工事のプロセスについて展示を行いました。また、18日には、岡部先生、David Barragan さん (Al Borde)、Sergio Parreloni さん（ポートランド州立大学）、林玲子さん（国立社会保障・人口問題研究所）をお招きし、「Historic Center: towards sustainable built ecosystem」と題してトークセッションを行いました。

　During Habitat Ⅲ Village exhibition, we show our construction process with handmade model, sketch, drawing, picture, movie in the site. And on 18th, we had a talk session "Historic Center: towards sustainable built ecosystem" with Prof. Okabe, David Barragan (Al Borde), Sergio Parreloni (Portland Universitty), Reiko Hayashi (Japan, National institution of Population and Social Security Research).
